JVET-AP0060 AHG9: On nnpfc_uri and nnpfc_tag_uri [S. Deshpande (Sharp)]

Following is proposed related to nnpfc_uri and nnpfc_tag_uri:

• Proposal 1: For supporting in-band transmission of neural network data in formats other than ISO/IEC 15938-17, a data URL scheme (IETF RFC 2397) is specified to be used for use in nnpfc_uri.
• Proposal 2: It is proposed to define additional nnpfc_tag_uri values for widely used/ deployed standards for specifying neural network information.

It is proposed to add the proposed approaches to the TuC.

For proposal 1, it is noted that a data URL can already be used. Adding some clarifying information is proposed.

It was suggested to change the first “shall be” to “is”.

It was suggested that a Note could be used instead.

It was suggested to follow up with some IETF experts on use of the data URL scheme, especially relative to potentially large data.
