JVET-AM0335 Signalling of Generic Subsample Information [L. Barnes, A. Tourapis, D. Podborski (Apple), E, Thomas (Xiaomi)] [late]

In the CICP TuC document, a definition is provided for subsampling and generic sample location signalling. The current HEIF amendment already defines such signalling, and we believe that including this signalling in the CICP specification is the appropriate approach. We therefore propose to move the relevant parts from the TuC document into an amendment of the CICP specification, and updating the definitions to align with the HEIF amendment.Some values in table 10 of JVET-AH1005 were found to be not consistent with the definitions in an amendment of HEIF that is currently under development in WG 3. Otherwise, some editorial updates are proposed.

Decision: Issue JVET-AM1005 as “CICP extensions (draft 1)” including JVET-AM0089 and JVET-AM0335.
