This contribution reports simulation EE2-Test-1.7 results of Adaptive Reference Region DIMD for intra prediction. In Test-1.7, three DIMD modes are designed, i.e.DIMD_TL (top and left), DIMD_L (left) and DIMD_T (top). where a new syntax element is signaled to select neighboring reconstructed pixels (reference region) used to derive a DIMD intra prediction mode. The experimental results reportedly show that the average Luma Bd-rate gain of the EE2-Test-1.7 is 0.12% and 0.05%, under AI and RA respectively.
