CE4-related: Motion predictor pruning
Abstract
This contribution describes a motion predictor pruning process to be applied in all coding modes to avoid redundancy in the lists of predictors. The proposed process has been implemented in the JVET BMS-2.0.1. The reported simulation results in VTM configuration show an average luma BD-rate gain of -0.08% in RA configuration with 4% encoder and 2% decoder complexity decrease, and an average luma BD-rate gain of -0.21% in LDB configuration with 1% encoder and 1% decoder complexity decrease.
