JVET-V0111 AHG2: On Decoding Unit Information for VVC Version 1 [S. Deshpande (Sharp)]
Following is proposed as bug-fixes for asserted issues related to dui_dpb_output_du_delay:
- It is proposed to fix the inference rule for the dui_dpb_output_du_delay when not present.
- It is proposed to add a bitstream conformance constraint related to dui_dpb_output_du_delay_present_flag.
- It is proposed to remove the note in C.3.3.
- It is proposed to clarify the condition for the existing constraint on the value of dui_dpb_output_du_delay.
Ye-kui Wang, Karsten Sühring, Yago Sanchez, Miska Hannuksela, and Virginie Drugeon were asked to review the proposal, confirm there is a problem, and if yes, which solution is appropriate. It was later confirmed (session 23 at 2145 and 2245) that the problem exists. In terms of the best solution, additional offline discussion was conducted. Finally, the experts converged in their opinion that the following solution is appropriate: It is proposed to fix the inference rule for the dui_dpb_output_du_delay when not present – agreeing to use “option 1” of the proposal.
The proponent was asked to provide specification text (uploaded as v3 of the zip package) with the finally agreed version for the solution.
Decision (BF/text): Adopt JVET-V0111 (text in version 3) as described above.
