This contribution results from the offline work related to JVET-AP0165 and JVET-AP0173. The proposed changes to the semantics are summarized as follows:
- An informative note is added to clarify the intent of eoi_temporal_extrapolation_flag equal to 0.
- The semantics of eoi_temporal_extrapolation_dir_flag are changed to avoid the phrasing to extrapolate between each pair of consecutive pictures in output order.
- The semantics of eoi_temporal_clvs_flag are changed to exclude consideration of temporal interpolation and to only indicate temporal extrapolation before the first picture of the current CLVS or after the last picture of the current CLVS in output order.
No changes to the syntax are proposed in this contribution.
Regarding aspect 2, it was commented that the wording “using the current cropped decoded picture as input” only specifies using a single decoded picture. It was agreed that the intention is not to include only the current picture and so the wording needs to be changed. Additionally using motion or other extra information is not precluded and should be also clarified in updated text. This is delegated to the editors.
