Cross-check of JVET-AP0219 ([AHG11] Additional Information on Stable Float Method for Neural Network Inference on GPU devices)
Abstract
This contribution reports results of the study for so-called stable convolutions tested in EE1-5 (operational bit-exact reproducibility). Cross-checkers come to the conclusion that provided implementation allows running NN-based loop filter on GPU. Even for NNVC CTC match between inference of CPU and GPU is observed, it was demonstrated with example for specific inputs mismatch is observed. Run-time improvement compared to SADL implementation in NNVC is not attractive.
