This contribution reports the results of EE2-2.3 exploration experiments. This test implements the joint performance of tests EE2-2.1/EE2-2.5 and EE2-2.2. In tests EE2-2.1/EE2-2.5, the TIMD-merge is proposed that computes a merge list of TIMD blocks in a neighbourhood of adjacent and non-adjacent neighboring CUs. Then, the list is sorted based on the template cost and finally, the best candidate is used as the TIMD-merge mode. TIMD-merge uses a CU-level flag that is signaled only when TIMD flag is true.
