On the combination of JCCR and TS
Abstract
Current VTM software (VTM-7.0) does not perform encoder search of JCCR in combination with ChromaTS, as only DCT2 combination is checked for JCCR, although VVC WD allows this combination. This contribution proposes two ways to fix this: 1. enabling encoder search of JCCR in combination with ChromaTS (non-normative) 2. Disabling chromaTS and JCCR combination (normative). CTC results on YUV420 and YUV444 content, for both proposals, over VTM-7.0, are as follows. In version v2, the source code is attached.
