Abstract
This contribution proposes to use the horizontal prediction instead of DC for a DM chroma block when its corresponding luma block is encoded using IBC or PCM mode. In another test, the horizontal and Planar prediction modes are used for a DM chroma block when its corresponding luma block is IBS and PCM blocks, respectively. Since PCM is disabled in VTM5.0, the performance of the two tests is identical and they achieve minor average (Y, U, V) BD rate gain for class F and Class SCC as follows:
