Abstract
This contribution proposes a restriction on the picture size to avoid 2x2/2x4/4x2 intra chroma blocks at the corner of pictures. On top of Core Experiment (CE) 3-2.1, the proposed restriction completely removes 2x2/2x4/4x2 intra chroma blocks and increases the worst-case processing throughput of VTM5.0 by 4x.
