In this contribution, a simplified multi-hypothesis intra-inter mode is proposed. Firstly, the size of intra candidate mode list of intra-inter mode is reduced from 4 to 1 such that if the signaled intra-inter mode flag is true, extra intra mode coding is not needed. Secondly, for the intra-inter prediction process, PDPC filter is directly applied to the inter prediction samples to get the final prediction values, and intra smoothing filter, intra prediction process, and weighted intra and inter prediction process are avoided. It is reportedly shown that, the proposed method achieved 0.05% and -0.05% luma BD-rates with 99% and 99% encoding time and 98% and 98% decoding time for RA and LDB respectively.
