PCM mode with dual tree partition
Abstract
This document proposes PCM mode modification for separated tree partition. The proposed modification is tested on top of VTM2.0.1. In AI/RA/LDB configuration, the results show 0.02%/0.01%/-0.03% BD-rate luma difference.

This document proposes a PCM mode modification for separated tree partition. The proposed modification is tested on top of VTM2.0.1. In AI/RA/LDB configuration, the results reportedly show 0.02%/0.01%/-0.03% BD-rate luma difference.
It was reported that the VTM software has a encoder/decoder mismatch when using a separate tree partition.
This proposes to include PCM in VVC. It was claimed to be a straightforward adaptation from HEVC (needed to adapt to deal with separate tree).
Decision: Adopt.
