CE 6-1.1 (c,d): Fast DST-7/DCT-8 based on DFT and 32 point MTS based on skipping high frequency coefficients
Abstract
In JVET-K0096 [1] AMT replacement and restriction, a simplified MTS was introduced. This contribution reports test results of CE 6-1.1 (c,d), and explains details of algorithm and architecture applied in the proposed MTS simplification, which is composed of three tests: 1) 32-point MTS based on skipping high frequency coefficients (RMTS32), 2) DFT-based DST-7/DCT-8 for both 16-point (DFT16) and 32-point (DFT32), and 3) DFT16 + RMTS32. Additionally, DFT16 + DFT32 on top of RMTS32 and the combinations of MTS candidates selection simplification methods [4], i.e. CE 6-1.1 (a,b), are experimented.
