In this contribution, a method to compute bottom-row and right-column prediction samples for intra planar mode is presented. At first, the bottom-right prediction sample is generated by averaging two different predictors. Then bottom-row prediction samples are computed based on weighted average of bottom-left and bottom-right samples, and right-column prediction samples are generated based on weighted average of top-right and bottom-right samples. A boundary filtering technique for planar mode is also presented in this contribution. Compared to VTM-1.0, it is reported that the proposed planar mode achieves -0.26% (Y), -0.10% (U) and 0.00% (V) BD-rates for AI. Compared to BMS-1.0, the proposed method achieves BD-rates of -0.56% (Y), -0.55% (U) and -0.47% (V) for AI.
