EE2-3.6cd: On coefficient level binarization in Transform Skip
Abstract
This contribution reports the results of EE2-3.6. This test proposes to modify the binarization of the Rice coding mode in the case the context bin budget runs out. In the new binarization of the Rice coding mode, a significance flag is coded for each TS coefficient using a CABAC context. Test-c presents results of this proposal in the CTC and non-CTC respectively, where the non-CTC test was carried out in very low QP (i.e. 2-7-12-17) and encodes with the temporal sub-sampling rate of 64 frames. As an ablation study, a modified anchor with no constraint on the CABAC budget has also been tested in Test-d, which was also carried out under the same non-CTC.
