The contribution reports the results of the cross-check of EE2-1.2, Test 1.2b, designed by Ericsson. In EE2-1.2, some restrictions are applied on CUs using BT splits to suppress QT-like partitioning structure when QT split is allowed for such CUs. EE2-1.2 derives from the contribution JVET-AH0155 presented during the 34th JVET meeting, Rennes, FR. On top of JVET-AH0155, EE2-1.2 adds one additional CABAC context to improve the coding efficiency of the proposed restriction. In EE2-1.2, Test 1.2b, the proposed restriction applies to 128x128, 64x64,32x32 and 16x16 CU sizes exclusively.
