At the 34th JVET meeting, contribution JVET-AH0173 proposed that an SEI message be created for the purpose of carrying International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles. During that meeting, questions were asked regarding the purpose and usability of such an SEI message, and accordingly the disposition of JVET-AH0173 was marked as “further study needed.” This proposal addresses the questions that were asked during the 34th meeting with information provided directly from the ICC, and reasserts that such an SEI message would prove valuable to industry.
